REcycle/REchair, a competition for an eco-friendly chair

The REcycle/REchair international conceptual design competition launched by AWR- Architecture Workshop in Rome challenges designers to come up with innovative proposals for an entirely eco-friendly armchair. The main objectives in today’s market consist in limiting production costs and environmental impact, and consumers are more and more inclined to choose “green” and “eco-friendly” products.
Designs should explore new trends in functional, performance and aesthetic models for a future where environmental sustainability is increasingly important. Though there are no limits in terms of construction, materials or dimensions, the jury will pay particular attention to the use of green materials.
Registration must be completed no later than December 15, 2011 and all project submissions are due by December 31, 2011. The competition winners will be announced on January 31, 2012.
